Facebook Natalie Alycia: Indecent Dissent: "In the midst of the political and social upraising that the proposed 'Healthcare Reform' has sparked I find myself compelled to voice my opinion on the 'Obama-Backlash' that has been going on throughout the country--and that finally came to a head in the nation's capitol over the weekend.

First, let me say that this dissent is not only extreme and unnecessary, it's also aburd. Allegations have even gone so far as to label Obama as a socialist, a type of mini Hilter, trying to 'brainwash' America's children...for real?!?! But that is not the worst of it. Some dissenters even make the claim that Obama is not an American. An interesting argument seeing that Obama was born in an American state, namely Hawaii.

It is blatantly clear that most of the backlash associated with the so-called 'anti-healthcare reformers' stems from the November 2008 when John McCain did not win the presidency. Since then these so-called right-wing conservatives have been looking for ANY reason to de-legitimize Barack Obama as a competent leader.

I know this notion does not sit well with many who are used to the historical hierarchy that exists in much of the world. In no country on the face of the planet is a person who is not 100% of European descent the absolute in charge--by means of holding the purse strings to the country's existance, or holding final control over government. Obama has changed that. He has upset, if you will, the world order. He is of African descent and he is the supremem leader of the most power world nation."

New Obama Family Portrait

May be it can be credited to famed photographer Annie Leibovitz or to the Obama gene pool, but the new official Obama family portrait depicts the first family looking well--too darn cute. The First Family sat for the snap shot over a month ago, yet the white House just released it two days ago, and not a moment too soon.

Who can argue against healthcare reform when you see the dashing, and relatively young, president and his handsome family adonned in their stately attire? Who can criticize the Obama administration for too much spending when you glance at the warm smiles of this attractive brood. Heck, who can even question his right to a Nobel Peace Prize after viewing this latest snap shot into history.

Its almost impossible to denounce anything this president does when you see his photogenic posse sitting so casually in the White House's Green Room. You almost want to join them...to discuss world politics--and the World Series--with the President, chat with the First Lady about her favorite designers and who she's wearing now, mix it up with Sasha and Malia, even get an update on Bo, the First Dog.

Yep, pretty much impossible to have anything negative to say...

ESPN Sex Scandal

The nation is pretty much immune to the rawkus sex-a-pades of the American celebrity class. First, there was Senator John Edwards; The Sex Scandal That Grieved A Nation (with the wife suffering from cancer and all). Then, there was South Carolina governor Mark Sanford; The Sex Scandal That Just Wouldn't End (in the media anyway). And finally, David Letterman's recent admission of an affair with his personal assistant; The Scandalous Sex Scandal.

And now CT's own quasi-celebrities have gotten into the mix.

Steve Phillips, 46, ESPN's playboy sports analyst and former general manager of the New York Mets has recently been outed by is latest mistress. Reportedly Phillips lover, a 22 year-old ESPN intern named Brooke Hundley, drove to his home where she attempted to hit Phillips' wife with her blue Prius hybrid--SIDE NOTE, its always best to threaten your lover's wife in an eco-friendly vehicle. After all that deranged behavior, it's nice to know that you're doing the planet a favor. Hundley also left Mrs. Phillips a note detailing some of their intimate encounters and telling the desperate housewife how unhappy Phillips is in his marriage.

What makes this story even more bizarre is that this is Phillips second reported extramarrital trist. The last mistress sued the sports tycoon for sexual harrassment in the late '90s. (collective sigh) As they say: Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

But the real question is, what's really good with ESPN? Either its a hot bed of sin or the best damn sports news enterprise in the world.

I'm leaning toward the former. One former employee stated that there's frankly nothing else to do in Bristol, CT. "It [ESPN] might as well be on the moon," he said. I agree. Who decided to place the world's mecca for sports entertainment and news in the middle of nowhere?--hidden somewhere among the ever-changing Connecticut foliage?

And as the New England landscape is warming up, so is ESPN amid not so silent whispers about its raunchy reputation. The organization has long been labeled as a "post-graduate fraternity house" said Neil Best in a Newsday article.

Phillips, it seems, may have been hired as a sort of "intern rangler" before he got rangled himself. His reputation with the interns in the Mets organizaton must have preceeded him.
